Los Angeles Chargers
Mike Williams
Mike Williams scores touchdown on only catch
Sun, Oct 21, 2018, 12:33 PM
Mike Williams caught a 55-yard touchdown in Week 7 against the Titans.
Analysis: Williams scored his touchdown on the Chargers' first drive of the second half. He had two end-zone targets, but couldn't come up with either of them. Williams briefly exited after getting shaken up late in the fourth quarter but didn't miss any time. He'll have the Chargers' Week 8 bye to get healthy.
Tyrell Williams
Tyrell Williams burns Titans secondary
Sun, Oct 21, 2018, 12:27 PM
Tyrell Williams caught four passes for 118 yards and a touchdown in Week 7 against the Titans.
Analysis: Williams roasted Logan Ryan for a 75-yard touchdown on the Chargers' first play. He had a quiet second half with the Chargers losing the time-of-possesion battle. Williams is a one-trick deep threat, but he's had a high floor this season, with at least 40 yards or a touchdown in 6-of-7 games. Williams gets a matchup with Seattle in Week 9.
Keenan Allen
Keenan Allen catches five passes in win
Sun, Oct 21, 2018, 12:17 PM
Keenan Allen caught five passes for 72 yards in the Chargers' Week 7 win over the Titans.
Analysis: Allen didn't get a ton of volume with Philip Rivers only attempting 26 passes. He had an on-field outburst after not getting targeted in the end-zone late in the fourth quarter. Allen has hit his floor all year but has only one touchdown. He's due for some positive regression in the second half.
Austin Ekeler
Ekeler totals 66 yards in place of Gordon
Sun, Oct 21, 2018, 11:52 AM
Austin Ekeler rushed 12 times for 42 yards and caught 5-of-7 passes for 26 yards in the Chargers' Week 7 win over the Titans.
Analysis: Ekeler got the start with Melvin Gordon out. This was one of his worse games of the year despite the expanded role. The Chargers scored both of their touchdowns on deep shots, so there wasn't a ton of red-zone opportunities for Ekeler. With Los Angeles on a bye, Ekeler looks destined to resume a change-up role in Week 9.
Philip Rivers
Rivers shreds Titans, Chargers hold on late
Sun, Oct 21, 2018, 11:46 AM
Philip Rivers completed 19-of-26 passes for 306 yards and two touchdowns in the Chargers' Week 7 win over the Titans.
Analysis: Rivers hit Tyrell Williams on a 75-yard bomb on the Chargers' first play from scrimmage. Both of his touchdowns were 50-plus yards, with Mike Williams beating the Titans deep to open the second half. Rivers attempted only 26 passes but he's been a lot more efficient this year with a 17:3 TD/INT ratio. The Chargers are on bye next week, but Rivers will be in the lower-end QB1 mix against Seattle in Week 9.
Joey Bosa
Schefter: Bosa expected to return in Week 9
Sun, Oct 21, 2018, 10:16 AM
Updating an earlier item, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Joey Bosa (foot) is expected to make his season debut against the Seahawks in Week 9.
Hunter Henry
Hunter Henry (ACL) unlikely to return in 2018
Sun, Oct 21, 2018, 8:52 AM
CBS Sports
According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, the likelihood of Hunter Henry returning from a torn ACL this year remains "quite remote."
Analysis: The Chargers have held off on placing Henry on injured reserve, leaving open the possibility that he could return at some point this season. Henry has made progress in his recovery from a torn ACL, an injury he suffered during offseason minicamp, though the Bolts are "not optimistic" he'll make it back before the end of the season. Henry's absence has certainly been felt as the Chargers haven't gotten much production from their tight ends this year.
Joey Bosa
Joey Bosa (foot) still without a timetable
Sun, Oct 21, 2018, 8:51 AM
CBS Sports
According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, Joey Bosa (foot) remains without a timetable.
Analysis: There's been speculation that the All-Pro pass-rusher could return after the Bolts' upcoming bye week but that possibility seems "quite ambitious," according to La Canfora. The former third overall pick has so far avoided surgery but hasn't been able to do much "football activity" in his early rehab. The Chargers remain hopeful that Bosa will be back at some point during the second half, though obviously his return can't be taken for granted.
Travis Benjamin
Travis Benjamin (foot) active for Week 7
Sun, Oct 21, 2018, 7:12 AM
Travis Benjamin (foot) is active for Week 7 against the Titans.
Analysis: Benjamin will make his first appearance since Week 4. He's unlikely to have much of a role, but it's a hit to Mike Williams' playing time. The Chargers inactives are RB Melvin Gordon, K Caleb Sturgis, LB Kyzir White, C Cole Toner, OT Trent Scott, OG Forrest Lamp, and DE Joey Bosa.
Melvin Gordon
Melvin Gordon (hamstring) out for Week 7
Sun, Oct 21, 2018, 7:02 AM
Melvin Gordon (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 7 against the Titans.
Analysis: Gordon was downgraded to questionable Saturday after his hamstring injury was more serious than initially thought. His status was tipped when Detrez Newsome was promoted from the practice squad. Hamstring injuries can linger, but Gordon has a bye next week to get healthy. Austin Ekeler will start for Gordon and is a plug-and-play RB2, with Justin Jackson backing him up.
Travis Benjamin
Travis Benjamin (foot) expected to return Sun

Adam Schefter on Twitter
Travis Benjamin (foot) is expected to play against the Titans in Week 7.
Analysis: Benjamin hasn't played since re-aggravating his foot in Week 4. Although he's off the fantasy radar, his presence alone plummets Mike Williams' usage. Williams played just 53% of the Chargers' offensive snaps in Week 1, but hasn't played less than 63% since Benjamin's been out. Williams is a boom-bust WR4 in this particular matchup against the Titans' secondary.
Detrez Newsome
Detrez Newsome added from practice squad

Adam Caplan on Twitter
Chargers signed RB Detrez Newsome from the practice squad.
Analysis: It suggests Melvin Gordon (hamstring) is on the wrong side of questionable. Newsome would be the No. 3 back behind Austin Ekeler and Justin Jackson if Gordon is ruled out.
Melvin Gordon
Melvin Gordon downgraded to questionable
Sat, Oct 20, 2018, 2:42 PM
Ricky Henne on Twitter
Melvin Gordon (hamstring) has been downgraded to questionable for Week 7 against the Titans.
Analysis: Gordon was limited in Friday's practice but the Chargers didn't list him on the injury report. It sounds like his hamstring issue is more than just cramping. Late week downgrades are never good, so this is a legitimate concern. With the Chargers playing in London, we'll know Gordon's status early Sunday.
Melvin Gordon
Melvin Gordon not listed on injury report
Fri, Oct 19, 2018, 12:17 PM
Melvin Gordon (hamstring) was removed from the Week 7 injury report.
Analysis: Gordon was limited in Friday's practice but has no injury designation for Sunday's game. Chargers coach Anthony Lynn said Gordon was dealing with some cramping issues. He'll be an RB1 against the Titans in London.
Caleb Sturgis
Caleb Sturgis questionable for Week 7
Fri, Oct 19, 2018, 10:09 AM
Caleb Sturgis (quad) is questionable for Week 7 against the Titans.
Analysis: Sturgis is not expected to play, especially after replacement Mike Badgley went 6-for-6 on all of his kicks last week against the Browns.
Travis Benjamin
Travis Benjamin listed questionable
Fri, Oct 19, 2018, 10:07 AM
Travis Benjamin (foot) is questionable for Week 7 against the Titans.
Analysis: Benjamin practiced in full Friday, so we'd expect him to return this week in London after missing the previous two games. Benjamin is off the fantasy map.
Travis Benjamin
Travis Benjamin (foot) limited again Thursday
Thu, Oct 18, 2018, 11:12 AM
Travis Benjamin (foot) was limited in Thursday's practice.
Analysis: He also got in a limited session Wednesday, putting him on track to return this week. Benjamin's return could put a dent into Mike Williams' and Tyrell Williams' target shares.
Caleb Sturgis
Caleb Sturgis (quad) expected to sit again
Thu, Oct 18, 2018, 11:10 AM
Ian Rapoport on Twitter
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport wrote it "sounds like" Chargers K Caleb Sturgis (quad) will miss another game.
Analysis: Sturgis has gotten in limited practices the last two days, but it might not be enough for him to be active in London. Michael Badgley will get the nod if Sturgis cannot go.
Joey Bosa
Bosa (foot) on track to return in a few weeks
Thu, Oct 18, 2018, 8:35 AM
Alex Marvez on Twitter
Joey Bosa (foot) is on track to return "in a few weeks."
Analysis: The news comes from Bosa's father, former NFL defensive end John Bosa. The team originally appeared to be targeting a Week 9 return following their bye, and it does not sound like Bosa has experienced any setbacks. The Chargers' defense has taken a step forward the last couple weeks, and getting back perhaps their best player will only help as they make a playoff push.
Travis Benjamin
Travis Benjamin returns to limited practice
Wed, Oct 17, 2018, 11:27 AM
Eric Williams on Twitter
Travis Benjamin (foot) was limited in Wednesday's practice.
Analysis: Benjamin hasn't played since aggravating a foot issue in Week 4. Benjamin is part of the fight for targets behind Keenan Allen and Melvin Gordon.
