Tom Brady
Death Star: Brady, Belichick headed to 9th SB
Sun, Jan 20, 2019, 9:15 PM
Tom Brady completed 30-of-46 passes for 348 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in the Patriots' 37-31, overtime AFC Championship Game victory over the Chiefs.
Deatrich Wise
Deatrich Wise inactive for AFC Champ Game
Sun, Jan 20, 2019, 4:16 PM
Patriots declared DE Deatrich Wise, DL Ufomba Kamalu, DL Keionta Davis, DL Danny Shelton, TE Stephen Anderson, DB Duke Dawson, and OL James Ferentz inactive for the AFC Championship Game.
Analysis: Wise has been listed with an ankle injury in recent weeks, but he was a full participant this week before being left off the final injury report. Everyone here appears to be a healthy scratch.
Rob Gronkowski
Gronk could retire to pursue acting career
Sun, Jan 20, 2019, 11:34 AM
Ian Rapoport on Twitter
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, there is a "strong possibility" Rob Gronkowski will retire this offseason.
Cordarrelle Patterson
Cordarrelle Patterson a non-factor vs. Bolts
Sun, Jan 13, 2019, 5:41 PM
Cordarrelle Patterson came up empty on his lone target while supplying three yards on one carry Sunday in the Patriots' Divisional Round win over the Chargers.
Phillip Dorsett
Phillip Dorsett hits pay-dirt as Pats win big
Sun, Jan 13, 2019, 5:38 PM
Phillip Dorsett tallied four catches for 41 yards and a touchdown on five targets Sunday in the Patriots' Divisional Round win over Los Angeles.
Rex Burkhead
Burkhead finds the end zone in win over Bolts
Sun, Jan 13, 2019, 4:58 PM
Rex Burkhead finished with 12 yards and a touchdown on four carries while also catching his lone target for a seven-yard gain Sunday in New England's Divisional Round win over the Chargers.
Analysis: Burkhead took a backseat to leading rusher Sony Michel and pass-catcher James White, though he did pitch in with a touchdown in the second quarter, gashing the left side for a six-yard score. The 28-year-old has followed up a nine-game touchdown drought by scoring in each of his last two outings. Sunday's end-zone visit marked Burkhead's first career postseason touchdown. He'll look to increase that number against the Chiefs in next week's AFC title game.
Chris Hogan
Hogan quiet as Pats advance to AFC title game
Sun, Jan 13, 2019, 4:57 PM
Chris Hogan notched three grabs for 13 yards on five targets Sunday in New England's Divisional Round win over the Chargers.
Analysis: Hogan was rarely heard from as Tom Brady zeroed in on Julian Edelman and James White, who combined for 248 of the Patriots' 343 passing yards on Sunday. The former Penn State lacrosse player has logged 50 yards or fewer in all but four games this year and won't be an enticing DFS piece when the Patriots travel to Kansas City for next week's AFC title game.
Rob Gronkowski
Rob Gronkowski no-shows as Patriots win big
Sun, Jan 13, 2019, 4:57 PM
Rob Gronkowski converted his lone target for a 25-yard gain Sunday in the Patriots' Divisional Round win over the Chargers.
Analysis: Gronk was mostly relegated to a blocking role, which has been the norm for him this year. He was exceptional in that regard, continually opening up holes in the run game while also providing stellar pass-protection. Gronkowski drew pass interference against Casey Hayward in the first quarter, which set up a one-yard rushing touchdown by Sony Michel on the very next play. He was only targeted once but made the most of it, breaking multiple tackles on his way to a 25-yard gain early in the third quarter. With retirement rumors swirling, Sunday may have been the 29-year-old's final game at Gillette Stadium. New England will travel to Kansas City to face the top-seeded Chiefs in next week's AFC title game.
James White
James White logs 15 catches as Patriots roll
Sun, Jan 13, 2019, 3:57 PM
James White amassed 15 catches for 97 yards on 17 targets Sunday in the Patriots' Divisional Round win over Los Angeles.
Julian Edelman
Edelman melts Bolts with epic 9-151-0 line
Sun, Jan 13, 2019, 3:57 PM
Julian Edelman gathered nine catches for 151 yards on 13 targets while also adding seven yards on his lone rushing attempt Sunday in the Patriots' Divisional Round win over Los Angeles.
Sony Michel
Sony Michel bullies Bolts for 3 touchdowns
Sun, Jan 13, 2019, 3:53 PM
Sony Michel erupted for 129 yards and three touchdowns on 24 carries while reeling in his lone target for a nine-yard pick-up Sunday in the Patriots' Divisional Round win over the Chargers.
Analysis: If you were one of the lucky few who started Michel in DFS, go collect your winnings. Michel's playoff debut was nothing short of spectacular. The first-round rookie feasted early, adding six carries and a touchdown on the opening drive. Michel got to stepping in the second quarter, parting the Red Sea for a 40-yard explosion to set up a first-and-goal. New England went to the locker room with a 35-7 halftime lead and Michel was the main reason why, finishing the first half with 105 yards and three touchdowns on 16 carries. James White is still the preferred back on passing downs but it's clear that Michel reigns supreme as New England's top ball-carrier. He'll look to follow up Sunday's brilliance with another standout performance next week at Kansas City. Michel roasted the Chiefs for 106 rushing yards when he faced them in Week 7.
Tom Brady
Brady cruises as Patriots frustrate Chargers
Sun, Jan 13, 2019, 3:52 PM
Tom Brady completed 34-of-44 passes for 343 yards and a touchdown while losing a yard on two carries Sunday in New England's Divisional Round win over the Chargers.
Analysis: Brady wasn't sacked in the victory. After a surprisingly mortal regular season, Touchdown Tom transformed into a playoff God against the Chargers, burying the Bolts with a steady diet of short passes, most of them to Julian Edelman (9-151-0) and James White (15-97-0). New England scored on each of its first three drives and went to the break with a commanding 35-7 lead. With Brady dropping dimes left and right, the Patriots finished the first half with as many touchdowns (five) as the Chargers (five) had first downs. He threw his lone touchdown in the second quarter, capping a surgical, eight-play drive with a 15-yard strike to a wide-open Phillip Dorsett. The 41-year-old has shown a few cracks in the armor this year but with a clean pocket and time to throw, he's still money. The Patriots will make their ninth straight AFC title game appearance next week at Kansas City. The Pats won their previous matchup with KC, though New England has been a different team outside of Foxboro.
Deatrich Wise
Deatrich Wise out for Divisional Round
Sun, Jan 13, 2019, 10:50 AM
Patriots DE Deatrich Wise (ankle) is inactive for the Divisional Round against the Chargers.
Analysis: Wise was the only player that was listed as questionable this weeks. Also inactive for the Patriots are DE Keionta Davis, CB Duke Dawson, S Obi Melifonwu, C/G James Ferentz, TE Stephen Anderson, and DE Ufomba Kamalu.
Rob Gronkowski
Gronk strong candidate to retire after season
Sun, Jan 13, 2019, 7:47 AM
NFL Network
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Rob Gronkowski will strongly consider retirement after the season.
Analysis: Gronkowski did the same last offseason before deciding to return for another year. It sounds like he's leaning toward retiring this time. Gronk's on-field decline has been obvious this season as he's continued to battle injuries. The Patriots have Gronkowski signed for $9 million through 2019, but it won't be surprising if he calls it quits.

Report: Fins targeting Flores for head coach
Fri, Jan 11, 2019, 4:05 PM
Ian Rapoport on Twitter
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Patriots DC Brian Flores has emerged as the favorite for the Dolphins' head-coaching job.
Analysis: Obviously the Dolphins can't hire Flores until the Patriots wrap up their season, but it looks like he's in line to replace Adam Gase as Miami's next coach. Saints DC Dennis Allen, Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy, Dolphins OC Dowell Loggains, Cowboys DBs coach/pass-game coordinator Kris Richard and Dolphins special teams coordinator Darren Rizzi also interviewed for the team's head-coaching vacancy. A former linebacker at Boston College, Flores has worked for the Patriots in some capacity since 2004. He only has one year of coordinating experience on his resume, though the 37-year-old is thought of as an up-and-comer and should help to shore up what was one of the league's worst defenses in 2018.
Cordarrelle Patterson
Cordarrelle Patterson back to full practice
Wed, Jan 9, 2019, 4:55 PM
Ben Volin on Twitter
Cordarrelle Patterson (knee) is practicing in full for Sunday's Divisional Round game against the Chargers.
Analysis: He missed the Patriots' regular season finale with a knee injury but had the bye to heal up. Patterson was recently selected to his fourth All-Pro team as a kick returner. The hybrid receiver/running back only logged 230 offensive snaps during the regular season.
Jacob Hollister
Pats send Jacob Hollister to injured reserve
Tue, Jan 8, 2019, 4:00 PM
Mike Reiss on Twitter
Patriots placed TE Jacob Hollister on injured reserve with a hamstring injury, ending his season.
Analysis: TE Stephen Anderson was promoted from the practice squad in a corresponding roster move. Primarily a special teamer, Hollister missed most of the second half of the season.

McDaniels: 'Book is closed' on HC interviews
Tue, Jan 8, 2019, 10:51 AM
Michael Giardi on Twitter
Josh McDaniels said the "book is closed" on head coaching interviews for 2019.
Analysis: McDaniels' only known interview was with the Packers, who decided to hire ex-Titans OC Matt LaFleur to be their head coach. With that job no longer available, it looks like McDaniels will be back in New England for another season. It will be his eighth year in a row and 11th overall running the Patriots' offense.

Report: McDaniels interested in Browns job
Thu, Jan 3, 2019, 9:59 PM
Canton Repository
The Canton Repository reports Patriots OC Josh McDaniels is "enthusiastically interested" in the Browns' head-coaching vacancy.
Analysis: Per reporter Steve Doerschuk, the sides have "used back channels to indicate a mutual preliminary interest." Be that as it may, an interview has yet to be scheduled. McDaniels is interviewing with the Packers on Friday. An annual candidate, going as far as to briefly accept the Colts job last year, McDaniels has been extremely hesitant to bolt New England. Perhaps he views Baker Mayfield as a meal ticket that cannot be screwed up.

Josh McDaniels turns down interview with CIN
Thu, Jan 3, 2019, 8:28 AM
Mike Garafolo on Twitter
NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports Josh McDaniels turned down an interview with the Bengals.
Analysis: McDaniels will interview with the Packers on Friday. He has also been linked with the Browns, but Mary Kay Cabot of reports they have yet to request an interview. It might be Green Bay or bust for McDaniels.
